Get your license
The road to obtaining your motorcycle license is not as complex as it might seem. Let Bikes'R'Safe guide you!
The simple explanation
This glosses over a few details, which you can find on the DVLA website or by reading the full flowcharts further down this page:
- Before you can ride a motorcycle or moped on the road, you'll probably
need to take CBT.
- Before you can take a practical test, you'll probably need to take a theory test. Try an online mock theory test.
- If you take a practical test on a smaller motorcycle (typically with a 125cc engine),
you'll be restricted to small bikes for two years...
- ... unless you turn 21 in that time and take an Accelerated Access test, after which you can ride anything.
- If you are over 21 you may take a practical "Direct
Access" test on a bigger motorcycle, such as an ER5. After this, you'll be allowed to ride
anything you want to straight away.
